We are seeking professionals within the quantum industry who can share perspectives on the skills and knowledge needed for the quantum workforce. With funding from the National Science Foundation and the Laboratory for Physical Science, researchers from Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Colorado Boulder are working on a project investigating the current landscape of jobs and education opportunities in quantum information science. The results will be used to guide improvements to QISE education, and make opportunities more accessible and helpful for students. By participating in this study, you will reflect on your knowledge on the types of occupations and tasks that are important within the industry and the knowledge, skills, abilities, and educational background needed to carry out that work. Input from members of the QISE industry is critical for improving and growing QIS education.
Participating would involve a 45-60 minute individual Zoom interview with postdoc, Shams El-Adawy, at a time convenient for you. The interview will be recorded. You will be free to answer only the questions you are comfortable answering during the Zoom interview. Your participation will be kept confidential; only members of the research team will have access to individual interview data.
If you are interested in participating, please fill pick out a time on Shams’ calendar that is convenient for you, which will automatically send a Zoom and calendar invite: https://calendly.com/shel8529-colorado/60mins
