Event Details & Abstract: 

Recently, wavefront control techniques that enable focusing of light through turbid media have been introduced. These techniques rely on the deterministic nature of scattering processes to shape the incident wavefront and compensate for scattered photons. Imaging through highly scattering media has the potential to extend the depth of optical imaging in tissue and advance many biomedical applications. I will discuss the high-speed adaptive wavefront optimization system we developed, as well as a new photoacoustic method for controlling light propagation through a scattering layer.
