Research

Our group conducts research in atomic, molecular and optical physics. In particular, we study the novel aspects of light-matter interactions and their applications to precision control and measurement of light fields, atomic and molecular structure, and novel quantum phenomena. We develop new technologies in the areas of high-resolution, exquisitely sensitive laser spectroscopy, atomic and molecular cooling and trapping, and optical frequency metrology. We apply these new technologies to precision measurement and research on the fundamental principles of physics.

Our group's research activities comprise three major areas:

  1. Ultracold Strontium
  2. Cold Molecules
  3. Ultrafast Science
