Ground Transportation/Lab Tours
JILA Lab Open House Sunday June 25, 2023 ~12 pm to ~4 pm
Please enter via the JILA X-wing entrance on the southwest corner of the building (the mountains are west.) Proceed to the 3rd floor of the X-wing via stairs or elevator. You can store your luggage in conference rooms X317 and X325. Pizza and light snacks will be available in the "hbar" area next to the conference rooms. Proceed to visit labs where students and postdocs will be waiting to greet you. Click here for the list of open labs and room numbers. The buildings X, B, and S run continuously from south to north respectively.
If taking a taxi to JILA, you can use the street address “CU Presents - Imig Music Building, 1020 18th Street, Boulder, CO”. The JILA entrance is a 1 minute walk as can be seen here.
If taking the airport bus to JILA, get off at the Broadway & Regent Drive bus stop. The JILA entrance is a 4 minute walk as can be seen here.
Conference Buses
We will have buses available to transport people from JILA to Estes Park on Sunday June 25:
The bus can be picked up at the corner of Euclid and 18th St in front of the Imig Music Building as can be seen here.
- leaving JILA at 3:40 pm: 2 buses (90 people total)
- leaving JILA at 6:30 pm: 1 bus (45 people)
- leaving JILA at 9:00 pm: 1 bus (45 people)
We will have buses leaving the Stanley Hotel on June 30, starting at 12:30.
- leaving the Stanley Hotel at 12:30 pm, going to Denver International Airport: 2 buses
- leaving the Stanley Hotel at 2:30 pm, going to Denver International Airport: 1 bus
- leaving the Stanley Hotel at 2:00 pm, going to University of Colorado Boulder campus: 1 bus

Options from Denver International Airport:
- Take the RTD AB bus, Supershuttle, Estes Park Shuttle, or Eight Black Airport Shuttle to JILA or directly to Estes Park
RTD AB bus: The bus leaves the airport once an hour, roughly 20 to 30 minutes after the hour, from the Transit Center accessed from the south exit on level 5 (look for the large American flag). Exit the terminal through the sliding glass doors and take the escalator located in the center of the plaza down to level 1. For further details, click here. For information on bus schedules, check the RTD booth or online here. To view the schedule to Boulder, select the "View skyRide schedules—lettered routes, e.g. AB/ABA” link. From JILA, take one of our buses to Estes Park.
Supershuttle (phone: 303-227-0000 or website) provides door-to-door service and leaves DIA hourly. This shuttle can take you to JILA or directly to the Stanley Hotel.
Eight Black Airport Shuttle. View schedules here. They will leave DIA 30-35 minutes after the hour. Please go to Level 5 (Main Level), Island 5, Outside Door 504. This is on the West side of the Terminal. The shuttle will deliver you directly to the Physics Complex. From JILA, take one of our buses to Estes Park.
Estes Park Shuttle: DIA Airport Shuttle Schedule and Rates | Estes Park Shuttle . This shuttle will take you from the airport directly to Estes Park.
- Uber/Lyft from Denver Airport to JILA or to Estes Park.
- Rent a car. This is a great option if you are interested in exploring Rocky Mountain National Park on your own.
