Condensed Phase Isomerization through Tunneling Gateways

When
-

Abstract: Superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors (SNSPDs) provide sufficient sensitivity to enable laser induced fluorescence (LIF) experiments in the mid-infrared, an exciting technical development for studying molecule-surface interactions. In this talk, I will present results of experiments on the vibrational dynamics of monolayers and multilayers of solid CO adsorbed at the surface of a NaCl crystal that provide observations of quantum state resolved dynamics.

Organic Geochemistry on Titan

When
-

Abstract: The Cassini-Huygens mission has revealed Saturn’s largest moon Titan to be a remarkably Earth-like world, with a diverse landscape of rivers, lakes and seas, vast dune fields, plains and mountains. Unlike Earth, however, Titan’s visible surface is dominated by solid organic materials at cryogenic temperatures, and altered by the action of liquid methane and ethane.
