Simple molecules can be manipulated near absolute zero with quantum optical techniques that were originally developed for atomic gases, and exhibit distinctive properties that arise from their internal complexity and a higher density of states.  In addition, molecules can be sensitive to different aspects of physical laws than atoms are.  We show how a combination of optical-clock style molecular spectroscopy and modern quantum chemistry shed light on quantum mechanical aspects of basic chemical reactions and advance table-top fundamental physics in new directions.
