Event Details & Abstract: 

Get to know the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Photonics Journal. Speak live with Carmen Menoni. Professor Menoni will discuss her experience as the leader of IEEE's first open access journal and expertise in the photonics field. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions live through the Ustream Live-Chat operated by IEEE Women in Engineering(WIE).

Carmen Menoni received her Ph.D. in Physics from Colorado State University (CSU) in 1987. Since 1991, she has been a member of the faculty in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at CSU where she is presently a professor. Menoni's expertise is in imaging, spectroscopy and optical materials. She has pioneered the use of extreme ultraviolet and soft x-ray lasers in nano-scale resolution imaging, mass spectrometry imaging, and material processing. She is also an expert in interference coatings for high power lasers. Her works are published in over 200 refereed journal and proceeding papers. Menoni is a Fellow of IEEE, the American Physical Society and the Optical Society of America.
