Event Details & Abstract: 

 3D laser radar systems that use digital holographic detection are showing increasing capabilities with advances in computational methods, detector arrays and tunable lasers. Features of the method include the ability to make compact, multi-function sensors with photon-noise limited performance. This presentation will provide an overview of the image formation theory for 3D holographic laser radar, and will also cover component technologies and capabilities. Specific topics addressed will include computation methods for 3D imaging, turbulence correction and multiple aperture imaging. Applications discussed include long-range imaging and aperture synthesis for fine-resolution imaging.
