The Electronics Shop (S275) provides a full range of services in support of JILA’s scientific mission. The services are available to all JILA personnel including Fellows, postdoctoral research associates, staff, and CU graduate and undergraduate students working at JILA. Terry Brown (S275, x2-0967) is the supervisor of the Electronics Shop. Visit the Electronics Shop homepage for more detailed information.
The Instrument Shop offers JILA researchers and staff a variety of services, including precision machining, welding, and the design and fabrication of custom laboratory apparatus and equipment. JILA’s secret to making custom equipment is one-on-one communication between the scientists and the instrument makers. This communication strategy makes it possible for Instrument Shop staff to create just about anything scientists need for their research. New Fellows frequently call upon Instrument Shop staff to build custom equipment as they set up their laboratories. JILA researchers also rely on everyday Instrument Shop services. Visit the Instrument Shop homepage for more detailed information.
