Piotr started his undergraduate studies in physics and computer science in Poland. He moved to Sweden as a sophomore and graduated from Umeå University in 2007. Thereafter, he joined the Organic Photonics and Electronics Group at the Department of Physics in Umeå, where he earned a Ph.D. in experimental physics (February, 2011). His doctoral research was focused on organic semiconductors, their interfaces and applications to photonic and electronic devices. A major part of his work concerned electrochemical doping in conjugated polymers and its utilization for generation of light in novel organic photonic devices, the so-called light-emitting electrochemical cells. In March 2011 he joined the Kapteyn-Murnane group, where he wants to apply time- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy to study charge transfer across interfaces and electron dynamics at surfaces. In his spare time he enjoys photography, skate skiing, and hiking. Piotr is a fellow of the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet)
