Ting grew up in Taipei, Taiwan. He received his B.S. in atmospheric and space sciences, and his M.S. degree in physics at the National Central University in Taiwan. While there, he studied plasma physics. After working in industries for a while, he moved to the University of Arizona in 2010 to pursue his Ph.D. degree in the College of Optical Sciences. In Arizona, he worked with Prof. Arvinder Sandhu on attosecond transient absorption spectroscopy of atoms and molecules. After being awarded an M.S and a Ph.D. in optical sciences, he joined Kapteyn-Murnane group as a research associate in 2017 summer. His current research interest is ultrafast soft X-ray imaging and spectroscopy.
