Originally from the East Coast, Ellen graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2004, with a BS in physics. Moving west, she attended the University of Illinois for graduate school. Working for the Laboratory for Optical Physics and Engineering, under the direction of J. Gary Eden, she worked on a variety of projects in the areas of high energy UV lasers, plasma diagnostics, rare gas kinetic modeling and spectroscopy. She has continued her trek west to Boulder, joining the KM Group in January 2011, and is enjoying the mountains and not living in the middle of a cornfield. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, fiber arts, and other mixed media artistic endeavors.
