Getting to the Summer Picnic, Friday, June 12
The first event, A Summer Picnic, is at the most distant location of the celebration and it has limited parking. You will be sent a list of participants staying at your hotel. We hope that you will contact other participants and arrange carpools to travel to the picnic. Parking for the picnic will be in the parking lot of St. Ambrose Church located at 7520 South Boulder Road. There will be no parking at Barney & Sally's house. Only the staff working the party who have a permit will be allowed to park close to the house.
There will be a Carpool Signup Sheet at the registration table for people to indicate they need a ride to their hotel after the party. We ask all participants, who have extra room in their car, to check the Carpool Signup Sheet to see if they can give someone a ride.

From DIA to A Summer Picnic
The quickest way to drive to Boulder is to take E470 which is a toll road. You will have to stop three times to pay tolls ($2.50, $2.50 and $3.00). The total trip will cost you $8.00. To take this route, exit the airport and drive west on Pena Boulevard. Take exit 6B for Highway E470 toward Fort Collins. Merge onto Highway 470 North. Drive 33.1 miles stopping at three toll booths. Take the ramp onto Highway 36 West to Boulder. Exit Highway 36 on the Louisville exit. Turn right on S. McCaslin Boulevard. Drive north on S. McCaslin Boulevard for 2 miles. Turn left on South Boulder Road. Drive west on South Boulder Road for .8 miles. Turn left on to Barcelona Drive. St. Ambrose Church is the third driveway on the left. Park at the church and wait for our bus to pick you up and carry you to the home of Barney Ellison and Sally Sullivan. You can view a Google map of the fastest route from DIA to the party by clicking on DIA to St. Ambrose Church. The drive will take 60 minutes.
From the St. Julien Hotel to A Summer Picnic
By Bus
To the party: Walk east two blocks on Walnut Street to Broadway. Turn right. Walk south on Broadway, crossing Canyon Boulevard. The bus stop is just past Canyon Boulevard on Broadway. Wait for the DASH bus. It will arrive at 4:30 pm, the optimal time to get to the party by 5 pm. When you get on the bus tell the bus driver that you want to get off at South Boulder Road and Barcelona Drive. She will let you know when the stop is approaching. Note the stop on the other side of South Boulder Road for your return trip. Walk from the bus stop up Barcelona Drive to the St. Ambrose Church parking lot. Once you are there, wait for the school bus which will take you to Barney and Sally's house. The bus will drive a circuit between the parking lot and the party from 5:00 to 9:30 pm.
From the party: Take the school bus to the church parking lot. Walk down Barcelona Drive and cross South Boulder Road to the bus stop. The DASHbus will come at about 9:24, 9:39, and 10:09 pm (it's an art, not a science). Tell the bus driver you want to get off the bus at Canyon Boulevard and Broadway. Walk north on Broadway crossing the street at Walnut Street. Walk two blocks west on Walnut Street to the St. Julien Hotel.
At the Registration desk there will be a Carpool Signup Sheet for persons wanting a ride to their hotel after the party. Check the list throughout the evening to see if someone has signed up to take you to your hotel.
By Car

Drive south on Highway 36 for 4 miles. Exit on the Table Mesa exit. Turn left on Table Mesa Drive. Table Mesa Drive will become South Boulder Road. Drive east on South Boulder Road 3 miles to Barcelona Drive. Turn right on Barcelona Drive. St. Ambrose Church parking lot is the third driveway on the left. You will find a Yahoo map of this route at St. Julien Hotel to St. Ambrose Church. Park and wait for the school bus which will take you to Barney and Sally's house. From the party: If you have space in your car, please check the Carpool Signup Sheet at the registration table. Someone might need a ride back to your hotel. Reverse the directions to return to the St. Julien Hotel.
From the Quality Inn to A Summer Picnic
By Bus
To the party: Walk 6 blocks west on Arapahoe Avenue to 15th Street. Turn right on 15th Street and walk 2 blocks to Walnut Street. Turn left on Walnut Street and walk to the Boulder Bus Station on the corner of 14th Street and Walnut Street. Or, from the Quality Inn cross Arapahoe Avenue and take a JUMP bus by 4:05 to arrive in time at the Bus Station to catch the next bus. Don't forget to ask for a transfer from the driver when you get on the JUMP bus. Take the 4:22 pm DASH bus from the Boulder Bus Station. This is the optimal time to get to the party by 5 pm. When you get on the bus tell the bus driver that you want to get off at South Boulder Road and Barcelona Drive. She will let you know when the stop is approaching. To the party: Walk west to Folsom Avenue. Turn left and walk up the hill to Colorado Avenue. Turn right and walk to Euclid Avenue across the University of Colorado campus. Turn right on Euclid and walk to Broadway. Cross Broadway and wait at the bus stop in front of University Hill Elementary School. Take a DASH bus at 4:30 pm, the optimal time to get to the party by 5 pm. When you get on the bus tell the bus driver that you want to get off at South Boulder Road and Barcelona Drive. She will let you know when the stop is approaching. Note the stop on the other side of South Boulder Road for your return trip. Walk from the bus stop up Barcelona Drive to the St. Ambrose parking lot. Once you are there, wait for the school bus which will take you to Barney and Sally's house. The bus will drive a circuit between the parking lot and the party from 5:00 to 9:30 pm.

Walk east on Euclid Avenue to Colorado Avenue in front of the Music School. Turn left and walk to Folsom Avenue across the University of Colorado campus. Turn left and walk down the hill to the back entrance of the Millennium Harvest House which is just before you reach Arapahoe Avenue. However, if you don't wish to walk across campus late at night, you should probably consider catching a ride with someone stay at the Millennium Harvest House.
