Each of you will make a 10-minute presentation, followed by a 5-minute question session, in class, on a ground- or space-based survey, mission, or experiment, past, present, or planned, whose goals are relevant to cosmology. You will make your presentation during the week Nov 10-14, the penultimate week before the Fall Break.
Two weeks before your presentation, deadline Oct 31, you will post a 10-minute zoom version of your presentation. Please email me the link that zoom will provide to you, no later than the Fri Oct 31 deadline (with no passcode please: the recording will be behind the CU firewall). Watch your own zoom recording. You are your own best critic!
Each of you will sign up as a reviewer of 3 of the presentations. Your choices will be posted on this page. First come first served. Each of 3 reviewers takes responsibility for asking questions during the 5 minute q&a period.
The first problem set of the semester is to select a survey/mission/experiment, and to write a short abstract explaining your selection. Your selected survey will be posted here.
The grading is:
Video | 12 points |
Presentation | 12 points |
Reviewing | 6 points |
In grading, I look for: clarity; organization; accuracy; adequate references; response to questions; avoidance of tics (um, er, like).
