Tom Purdy is a postdoctroal research associate at JILA in the Regal Group Optomechanics Lab. His current interests involve cavity quantum optomechanics and the quantum limits of measurement. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Californa, Berkeley in 2009. His dissertation, Cavity QED with Ultracold Atoms on an Atom Chip focused on cavity optomechanics with ultracold atoms. Tom attended Carnegie Mellon University as an undergraduate.
