Event Details & Abstract:

People are often most influenced by individual experiences or stories. Climate science is a topic often discussed in the media in terms of specific stories or occurrences. However, much of science and physics relates to calculating probabilities. In this talk, we discuss some basics of climate science and the underlying physics. We then relate these basics to understanding the role of probabilities in climate science as well as our everyday lives.
